TL;DR

naive.ai is, as of 2026-08-18, a single static page: the words "100 × intelligence for the pioneers", a "Join us" link to hr@naive.ai, and nothing else. It is served from GitHub Pages by the organisation naiveai-team, which was created on 2026-02-24; its only repository, landing-page, was created and last pushed on 2026-03-17 (naive.ai; GitHub API; accessed 2026-08-18). No product, pricing, team, careers, blog or documentation page exists, and no legal entity is named anywhere on the site.

  • The company is publicly associated with Jifeng Dai (代季峰), a tenured associate professor in Tsinghua University's Department of Electronic Engineering, but that association comes from third-party reports only: neither his personal site nor his Tsinghua faculty page mentions Naive.ai in any form (both accessed 2026-08-18).
  • A widely-copied Chinese report says Naive.ai raised "about US$300M" at "about US$800M" valuation from "first-tier funds and tech giants" whose names are "not disclosed". Its provenance is thin: the version reviewed is dated 2026-04-26, attributes the claim only to "据多家媒体报道" ("according to multiple media reports") without naming one, and is itself a republication of a WeChat account post (AITNT). No wire, no Chinese tech outlet of record and no company statement carrying this round was found — see Funding.
  • Dai's own site does document the immediately preceding chapter: "2025.5 - 2026.1 | Leader of MiroMind, an AGI lab founded by Shanda. Unfortunately, MiroMind stopped operation in China due to geo-political issues in Jan 2026." (jifengdai.org; accessed 2026-08-18). The circumstances of that departure are publicly disputed between Dai and Shanda — see Notes.
  • There is a separate, unrelated company called Naïve (YC Spring 2025, San Francisco, usenaive.ai, "Autonomous Company Infrastructure", founders Sean Dorje and Dennis Zax) which search engines and databases frequently return for the same query (Y Combinator; accessed 2026-08-18) — see Identity and legal entities.

Product

Nothing is published. The entire served page consists of the site name, the line "100 × intelligence for the pioneers", and a "Join us" mailto link; there is no product description, screenshot, waitlist, documentation, pricing or demo (naive.ai; accessed 2026-08-18).

The only stated product direction found anywhere is in the third-party report described under Funding, which says the company works on "开源模型的后训练和 AI Agent 方向" (post-training of open-source models and AI agents) with a core team drawn from former MiroMind members (AITNT; Published 2026-04-26). That direction is consistent with, but not confirmed by, Dai's own stated research focus of "agentic AI and continual learning" (jifengdai.org; accessed 2026-08-18). No first-party source states what Naive.ai is building.

Founder

Jifeng Dai (代季峰) is the person publicly associated with Naive.ai in third-party reporting. His career below is taken from his own site and his Tsinghua faculty page, both accessed 2026-08-18. Neither mentions Naive.ai.

Period Role Source
2005.9 – 2009.7 Undergraduate, Department of Automation, Tsinghua University; "GPA ranking 2/160+" jifengdai.org
2009.9 – 2014.7 Ph.D. student, Department of Automation, Tsinghua University, supervised by Professor Jie Zhou jifengdai.org
2012.9 – 2013.9 Visiting student, VCLA lab, UCLA, working with Professors Song-Chun Zhu and Ying-Nian Wu jifengdai.org
2014.7 – 2019.9 Researcher then Principal Research Manager, Visual Computing Group, Microsoft Research Asia, under Jian Sun and Baining Guo jifengdai.org
2019.10 – 2022.7 Executive Research Director, SenseTime Research, under Professor Xiaogang Wang jifengdai.org
2022.7 – present Associate Professor, Department of Electronic Engineering, Tsinghua University; "got tenured at 2024"; current focus "agentic AI and continual learning" jifengdai.org, Tsinghua faculty page
2022.9 – 2025.2 Lead Researcher, Shanghai AI Lab, leading joint teams from Shanghai AI Lab and SenseTime Research on multi-modal foundation models jifengdai.org
2025.5 – 2026.1 "Leader of MiroMind, an AGI lab founded by Shanda. Unfortunately, MiroMind stopped operation in China due to geo-political issues in Jan 2026." jifengdai.org

Research record. Google Scholar lists 86,431 citations, h-index 83 and i10-index 131 for the profile linked from his own site (accessed 2026-08-18). His site highlights InternVL, InternImage, UniAD (CVPR 2023 Best Paper Award), BEVFormer, Deformable DETR, VL-BERT, Deformable ConvNets and R-FCN, several flagged as among the most influential papers of their respective conferences (jifengdai.org, Google Scholar). Academic service listed: Associate Editor of TPAMI, editorial board of IJCV, area chair for NeurIPS, ICLR, CVPR, ICCV and ECCV.

Currently recruiting for the university lab, not the company. His site states: "My lab at Tsinghua University is now hiring. If you are interested in internship, Ph.D. program, postdoctoral positions related to agentic AI or continual learning, please send me an email." (jifengdai.org; accessed 2026-08-18).

Other names. A co-founder named Xizhou Zhu (朱锡洲) appears in the third-party report only (AITNT); no first-party source confirms a Naive.ai role, though he is a frequent co-author on Dai's publications (jifengdai.org). The only name attached to Naive.ai by first-party technical evidence is Yuntao Chen, the GitHub account (RogerChern) that authored all seven commits to the landing page; no source states his role, and the commits alone establish only that this account published the site (GitHub API; accessed 2026-08-18).

Funding

No funding announcement by Naive.ai was found in the reviewed public sources as of 2026-08-18: there is no press release, investor page or company statement, and the site itself carries nothing beyond the one-line landing page.

Date Claim Amount Investors named Provenance
Published 2026-04-26 Naive.ai, founded by Tsinghua associate professor Dai Jifeng, "已完成约3亿美元融资,估值约8亿美元"; focus on post-training of open-source models and AI agents; core team from former MiroMind, co-founder Zhu Xizhou ~US$300M raised, ~US$800M valuation "一线基金和科技巨头,具体机构暂未披露" — first-tier funds and tech giants, institutions not disclosed AITNT — attributes the claim to "据多家媒体报道" without naming any, and is itself republished from the WeChat account "水木TsinghuaCent"
Undated mirrors The same figures, headlined with "传" (rumoured) Same Same jhth.cn

The claim could not be traced to a primary source. No version was found on a wire service, on 36Kr, or in any outlet that names its own reporting; the originating WeChat post was not retrieved; and no filing, investor announcement or company statement corroborates it. Crunchbase publishes a naive-ai profile that returned HTTP 403 to automated access on 2026-08-18. Amount, valuation, date, lead investor and even whether a round occurred are therefore not established — see Notes.

Engineering

Technology stack and platforms

There is essentially no engineering surface to observe. Everything below was confirmed on 2026-08-18.

  • The site is a static page on GitHub Pages. naive.ai resolves to naiveai-team.github.io and to the GitHub Pages address range; responses carry server: GitHub.com and a last-modified of 2026-03-17. Cloudflare name servers are configured at the registrar, but the origin is GitHub Pages.
  • The repository contains a landing page and nothing else — naiveai-team/landing-page, language CSS, created 2026-03-17, seven commits the same day (init landing page, three Create CNAME/Delete CNAME pairs, fix gpt typo), no releases, no stars.
  • The page loads no analytics, no error tracking and no third-party scripts; its only external requests are to Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) for the Cormorant Garamond, Instrument Serif and Space Grotesk families.
  • No application surface exists. /about, /team, /careers, /jobs, /blog and /research return HTTP 404, and app.naive.ai, api.naive.ai and docs.naive.ai do not resolve.
  • No other public code. The organisation has one repository and no public members; no npm or PyPI package under the name was found.

Technical background sought

Nothing is published by the company. The only hiring signal on naive.ai is the hr@naive.ai mailto link behind "Join us", with no roles, locations, requirements or compensation stated. The lab hiring notice on Dai's personal site is for Tsinghua University positions — internships, Ph.D. and postdoctoral places in agentic AI and continual learning — not for the company (jifengdai.org; accessed 2026-08-18).

Industry domain

The public evidence supports only what Dai's own research record describes: multi-modal foundation models, visual perception, autonomous-driving perception and, currently, "agentic AI and continual learning" (jifengdai.org, Tsinghua faculty page). The reported company direction — post-training of open-source models and agents — rests on the unverified report in Funding.

Notes

Not publicly disclosed

Search scope for the findings below (2026-08-18): naive.ai and probes of /about, /team, /careers, /jobs, /blog, /research plus the app., api. and docs. subdomains; the page's HTML, stylesheet and network requests; WHOIS for naive.ai; Internet Archive CDX index and captures of naive.ai from 2019 to 2021; the GitHub organisation naiveai-team, its repository, commit history and members, plus the unrelated naive-ai organisation; jifengdai.org and the Tsinghua Department of Electronic Engineering faculty page; Google Scholar; the Y Combinator profile for the unrelated company Naïve; Crunchbase; MiroMind's website; and English and Chinese searches on "naive.ai", "代季峰", "Jifeng Dai", "朱锡洲" and the reported funding figures.

  • Any legal entity, jurisdiction, registration or officers. No entity name appears on the site, and no registry record was retrieved for a company trading as Naive.ai.
  • What the company is building. No product description, roadmap, waitlist, demo, documentation or repository exists beyond the landing page.
  • Whether Jifeng Dai is in fact a founder, and in what capacity. The association appears only in third-party reports; neither his personal site nor his university page mentions the company, and no company page names him.
  • Team, headcount and locations. No team page, no public GitHub members, no roles advertised. Only one name — the landing page's commit author — is attached to the company by first-party evidence, and no source states his role.
  • Funding. No announcement, filing or named investor. The circulating figures could not be traced to a primary source.
  • Technology, models or infrastructure. Nothing is observable; the site is a static page with no application, API or analytics.
  • Any relationship to MiroMind, Shanda or their assets. Reported only in third-party accounts; no first-party statement from either side names Naive.ai in the reviewed sources.
  • Sources that could not be read on 2026-08-18: Crunchbase (HTTP 403), the Bloomberg-syndicated MiroMind coverage on Crain Currency and The Edge (HTTP 403), and the originating WeChat post behind the funding claim.

Inconsistencies across sources

  • The company is claimed for a person whose own pages do not mention it. Third-party reports name Jifeng Dai as Naive.ai's founder, while jifengdai.org — which is otherwise maintained in detail, listing roles up to "2025.5 - 2026.1" — and his Tsinghua faculty page contain no reference to it (both accessed 2026-08-18).
  • Funding: asserted versus untraceable. The "~US$300M / ~US$800M" figures are stated as fact by AITNT and as rumour ("传") by mirror sites; the former cites only "多家媒体报道" and names none. No corroborating primary source was found.
  • MiroMind tenure dates. Dai's own site gives "2025.5 - 2026.1" (jifengdai.org); Chinese self-media accounts give a March 2025 start and an 18 January 2026 resignation from a "技术顾问" (technical adviser) role (Sina 财经头条 repost). The two descriptions of the role and its dates do not match.
  • Name collision with a separate company. Databases and search engines return the YC Spring 2025 company Naïve (usenaive.ai, San Francisco) for the same queries; it is a different company with different founders (Y Combinator).

Other

  • The public footprint is three months old and static. The GitHub organisation was created 2026-02-24, the page was pushed 2026-03-17, and the served page has not changed since — its last-modified header still reads 2026-03-17 when fetched on 2026-08-18.
  • The circumstances of Dai's departure from MiroMind are publicly disputed, and both sides' positions are recorded here without adjudication. Dai's own site attributes MiroMind's China shutdown to "geo-political issues" in January 2026 (jifengdai.org). Reporting attributed to the Washington Post, carried in April 2026 by Bloomberg-syndicated and other outlets, states that Dai told the Post he left because the company required AI researchers to relocate abroad, and that MiroMind moved its staff out of China after Beijing cautioned against transferring core talent and results overseas (Seoul Economic Daily summary of the Washington Post reporting, 2026-04-22; Crain Currency, Bloomberg syndication). Chinese self-media accounts describe a subsequent Shanda internal notice disputing that characterisation (Sina 财经头条 repost). The primary Washington Post article and the Shanda notice were not read directly; the syndicated pages returned HTTP 403 to automated access on 2026-08-18. This page records the existence and attribution of these accounts only.
  • MiroMind itself continues to operate a public site titled "MiroMind | General Purpose Solver" (miromind.ai; accessed 2026-08-18).
  • The landing page's copy is the only statement of intent the company has made: "100 × intelligence for the pioneers" (naive.ai).
